Herringbone SPC lays in the classic zigzag pattern for a high-end look without the high-end price — about $2.49 per sq ft, a fraction of herringbone hardwood. One price for everyone, every day. Is SPC Flooring Really Waterproof?
Yes — and this matters more in Ontario than almost anywhere else. SPC's stone-based core doesn't absorb water at all, so it handles:
- Basements (the number one use case we see — concrete slabs, moisture, the occasional seep),
- Kitchens and laundry rooms (spills wipe up; leaks don't become insurance claims),
- Winter (road salt and slush by the front door won't stain or warp it), and
- Pets (accidents clean up without soaking in).
One honest note: "waterproof floor" doesn't mean "waterproof installation" — water can still get under the planks through the seams in a major flood. For normal life — spills, mopping, pets — you're covered.
How Is SPC Installed?
SPC installs as a floating click-lock floor — planks lock together edge to edge with no glue and no nails, over a foam underlayment (many of our planks come with it attached).
